Job Summary:
The senior business
specialist acts as the lead worker over financial accounting,
reporting, and district support services activities; develops
codes, procedures, and methods; interprets regulations and policies;
provides training on processes and procedures; verifies and edits
salary payrolls; processes third party audit reports; provides
training and analysis of budget data. This position is governed
by the accounting procedure and code manuals, human resources
policies, strategic business plan, and state/federal statutes
and regulations. Responsibilities are performed under general
supervision. Knowledge of accounting and financial practices
and procedures as might be acquired through a bachelor's degree
in accounting, marketing, business administration, or a related
discipline. Three years of experience with the department
in positions related to accounting, auditing, business analysis,
or review, or five years of experience outside the department
in comparable positions.
Special Working
Conditions/Job Characteristics:
Work requires occasional,
statewide, overnight travel.
Knowledge of reconciling
and general ledger accounts preferred.
