Job Summary:
The legal secretary
is responsible for performing secretarial duties and general clerical
support for the Chief Counsel's Office and Right of Way and is
governed by legal manuals and directives such as the Staff Procedures
Manual, Administrative Rules Workbook, Litigation Manual, Pleading
Forms Manual, and Missouri Rules of Court. Responsibilities
are performed under direct supervision. Ability to read,
write, and perform mathematical calculations as might be acquired
through graduation from high school. Ability to type and
use stenographic/speedwriting methods to take oral dictation or
use a transcribing machine. Six months of experience with
the department in a secretarial capacity or 12 months of experience
outside the department in comparable positions.
