Missouri Passenger Rail Schedules and Information

Amtrak provides two round trips per day between St. Louis and Kansas City, with stops in Kirkwood, Washington, Hermann, Jefferson City, Sedalia, Warrensburg, Lee’s Summit and Independence. In FY 2007, service was provided to more than 144,000 passengers, including students, the elderly and disabled.

Amtrak also provides the Southwest Chief that operates between Los Angeles and Chicago, with stops in Kansas City and La Plata, Missouri, as well as the Texas Eagle that operates between Chicago and San Antonio with stops in St. Louis and Poplar Bluff, Missouri. Light Rail- General Information

The only light rail program in Missouri is operated in St. Louis City and St. Louis County and is commonly known as the Metrolink system and is operated by Metro, Inc. The MODOT Railroad Section provides safety oversight for the system, which transports more than 15 million passengers annually.
